The work brought together spa, retail and wellbeing strategy, guest experience, operational development and execution within a complex luxury hotel environment.

The Rhythm of the Land

MAROMA, A BELMOND HOTEL — RIVIERA MAYA

Tradition· Place · Simple Luxury

The creation of Wellness thru the land and resort of Maroma was an opportunity to launch wellbeing through the landscape and cultural traditions of the Riviera Maya. Wellbeing extended across the seed concept, architectural and interior direction, guest journey, programming and pre/post opening operations bringing the experience into relationship with nature, local knowledge and the identity of the place.

Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo -Otemachi

Urban Wellbeing | Spa Strategy & Experience Design

A contemporary approach to wellbeing high above Tokyo, shaped around the relationship between movement, stillness, water and the city. My work considered the complete wellness experience from concept and spatial journey to programming, operations and the way guests move between energy and restoration.

Where Light Heals

El Encanto, Santa Barbara

Restorative Hospitality · Landscape · Guest Experience

Set within the hills of Santa Barbara, El Encanto offered a naturally restorative setting. The approach connected wellbeing with landscape, movement, privacy and the slower rhythms of the property, allowing the experience of place itself to become part of the wellness journey.

Rituals Reimagined

FOUR SEASONS HOTEL SEOUL — SOUTH KOREA

Contemporary Korean Wellness · Concept & Experience Strategy· Pre-opening

A wellness experience shaped within the energy of contemporary Seoul, bringing together international luxury standards with a strong sense of local culture and place. The work explored how spa, movement, restoration and guest experience could become part of the wider rhythm of the hotel rather than exist as a separate amenity.

FOUR SEASONS HOTEL KYOTO — JAPAN

Place · Culture · Wellbeing

Set around an historic pond garden, Four Seasons Kyoto offered an opportunity to think about wellbeing through place rather than simply through spa. The experience drew from the quiet rhythms of the garden, Japanese bathing traditions, materiality and ritual to create a sense of restoration rooted in Kyoto itself.

A Dialogue with Nature

MOUNT NELSON, A BELMOND HOTEL — CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

Heritage · Wellbeing · Sense of Place

At Mount Nelson, the opportunity was to consider wellbeing within one of Cape Town’s most recognisable heritage hotels. The work explored how gardens, landscape, local culture and contemporary wellness could strengthen the guest experience while respecting the character and history of the property.

HOW I WORK

I work with owners, developers, architects, designers and hospitality teams at different stages of a project. From the earliest idea through development, opening and evolution.

Sometimes the work begins with a blank piece of land. Sometimes it begins with an existing hotel ready to be reimagined. In both cases, the question is the same: what should this place become, and how can every part of the experience support that vision?

PLACE
Understanding landscape, culture, history and context.

EXPERIENCE
Defining how the place should feel and how the guest moves through it.

WELLBEING
Embedding wellbeing into the whole experience rather than treating it as an amenity.

OPERATIONS
Making the vision practical, deliverable and sustainable in daily operation.

PEOPLE
Creating the culture, service behaviours and human interactions that ultimately bring the place to life.

WHEN TO BRING ME IN

The most valuable conversations often begin early, but I also work with existing hotels and resorts at moments of change.

  • New hotel or resort concepts

  • Repositioning an existing property

  • Wellness strategy and concept development

  • Guest-experience transformation

  • Spa and longevity concept development

  • Pre-opening strategy and operational readiness

  • Regenerative hospitality and sense-of-place strategy
