A year-long exploration of medicinal plants, plant families and the traditions that have shaped herbal medicine.

Together we learn to recognise plants, understand their families, explore materia medica and traditional uses, make simple herbal preparations, and develop a more direct relationship with the plants themselves.

The apprenticeship brings together Western herbalism, the Wise Woman tradition, Ayurveda, plant meditation and the teachers and lineages that have influenced my own work.

What We Explore

Each month we enter one plant family and spend time learning its characteristics, history and medicine.

Our studies include:

  • Plant families and identification

  • Materia medica

  • Traditional herbal uses

  • Herbal preparations and recipes

  • Wise Woman philosophy

  • Ayurveda and the Elements

  • Plant meditation and sensory observation

  • Herbal history, folklore and lineage

The intention is not simply to memorise herbs, but to gradually learn how to see the relationships between plants, people and the natural world.

Learning Together

We meet online twice each month for live teachings and discussion.

Along the way, apprentices are encouraged to work directly with the plants through simple readings, herbal preparations, observation and occasional assignments.

You may be asked to choose a plant to research, spend time with it, prepare it, or share what you have discovered with the group.

Recordings are available if you are unable to attend live.
